Fourth of July BBQ 2007
Our 2007 Nelson, USA Club Fourth of July BBQ will be held at the Richmond New Life Cafe at 85 Wensley Road, Richmond between 5.30-7.30pm (Wednesday night). This venue was awesome last year and they have been kind enough to allow us access again this year (we must have cleaned up real good!). We’d like you to wear red, white and blue and show your patriotic colours. Please pass this invitation on to other Americans you know living in the Nelson region – we invite American families, blended American/Kiwi families and blended American/Other families to celebrate with us.
As this event is BYO/shared buffet, please confirm your attendance by emailing: fred@nelsonusa.co.nz.
We’d also like to prepare the pot luck dinner by allocating each family one item on the list. Please email your RSVP with your choice and the number in your family planning to attend. Perhaps you have something special you like to cook – we are happy to add it to the list! We will add names to this club website so you can keep up-to-date.

I have been organizing an auction to raise money to help re-open the Nelson Women’s Center which was apparently “set fire to” and damaged so much it had to close its doors. The Center houses Rape Crisis Services, Domestic Violence Sevices, provided a networking area, an op shop, and a series of classes ranging from homeopathy for menopause to flax weaving and self-defense.
A music fundraiser is planned for Sunday May 20 at the Boathouse from 4 to 7 where the auction items will be displayed. Thanks for being part of our Circle Of Giving Auction.
